Happy Easter!
A big thank you to those who have contacted me and sent me photos - I have loved seeing what you are getting up to. Well done for working so hard over the past couple of weeks...I know it hasn't been easy. The good news is it is now the Easter holidays so take a break over the next 2 weeks.....but please continue to share photos with me and I will post them on our page.
Happy Easter to you all!

March
Hi everyone!
Hope you are all well and still remembering to wash your hands! I am sure you are all finding ways to keep busy...and I would love to hear about it! Send a photo of anything you have been doing to occupy yourself and I will post it here. Our email address is [email protected].
Myself and Chloe have been getting plenty of fresh air by going for a walk everyday. It is important to stay active - if the weather is nice make sure to get some fresh air...or visit Go Noodle to do some yoga or guided dancing. Have a look below for some extra ideas.
Can't wait to see you all soon!

I have uploaded suggested work for next week as I am sure you have finished the work I already assigned. Try your best to complete the work on the sheet and have a look below for some additional activities you can do to keep busy.
Don't forget to keep washing those hands and stay safe!

Keep practising your addition and subtraction with renaming. Use 2 dice and play the dice game...or you could use a deck of cards instead and turn 2 cards over at a time to make a number. Look at the picture below to remind you how to rename when adding and subtracting.
***HAPPY BIRTHDAY!***
We have missed some birthdays since we closed and we have another few coming up. Even though we aren't able to wish them Happy Birthday in person, you might like to make them a card and send me a picture of it to share here. We will be sure to sing 4 rounds of Happy Birthday when we get back....there will be a lot of Hip Hip Horrays!
We have been keeping busy....
Looking for something to do?
**Make something using recyclable materials at home....a robot, a house, a castle....let your imagination run free! Don't forget to take a picture of anything you make and send it to me!
**Play 20 questions with someone in your family...remember answers can only be 'Yes', 'No' or 'I don't know'!
**Visit the website below to listen to a free audio book from David Walliams...he will be adding a new one each day from 11am.

**2fm have been posting daily challenges on Instagram (have a parent check it out for you).....send a video of you completing a challenge to the email above and I will post it here!
**Follow a recipe to bake something nice with your families.....I would love to read your procedures and maybe even try making it myself!
**Have a look at the homepage of our website...download a picture and take part in the colouring competition! Or if you don't have access to a printer, draw a picture of a historical site in Leixlip and send a picture of it to the designated email address.
World Book Day
We dressed up as characters from our favourite books. We brought in books to show each other and we made monster bookmarks. We also enjoyed some D.E.A.R time in the school library and paid a visit to the Book Fair.
February
Friendship Week
We had great fun with our 6th class buddies during Friendship week. We did paired reading, played board games, created Valentines Art and had some P.E with them. We also swapped yards for the week so we got to spend time with our buddies at lunchtime too.
Maths
We learned about 3D shapes in Maths and finished our week by making our own shapes.
Valentines Art
Procedural Writing
We have been learning about Procedural writing in English. We wrote a recipe for Rice Krispie buns and as a special treat we got to go to the staffroom to make some. We let them set overnight and enjoiyed them the next day....yummy!
Grandparents Day |
Our Grandparents came to visit our classroom on 30th January to celebrate Grandparents Day. We asked them questions about life when they were our age and we learned loads from them. We made cards for our Grandparents also.
January
2 baby goats came to visit the school and we got to hold them. They were very cute!
December
We had a busy month practising really hard for our play 'It's a Party'. We had great fun performing it on Open Day. We did lots of Christmas art and learned about Christmas traditions around the world. We are looking forward to the Christmas holidays and will be ready for more fun and learning in the new year.
November
Enrolment Ceremony
On the 16th November, those of us who are making our Communion participated in our Enrolment Ceremony. We did a great job on the night and our teacher and Mrs. Mescal were really proud of us. On the night we received a special candle and a Thumb Book which we will bring with us to our 'Do This In Memory' masses.
SESE
We learned about the festival of Diwali that is celebrated in India. We completed group projects on India and we painted Indian elephants.
Full House
We earned enough stars and compliments to achieve a full house on our Bingo board...which meant a well deserved night off homework!
October
Full Attendance
Well done the the children who have not missed a day since we started back to school.
Halloween
Happy Halloween from everyone in 2nd class. We hope you have a lovely Midterm and we are excited for a busy term ahead.
Jersey Day
We had great fun wearing our jerseys and raising money for GOAL.
September
Maths
We went on a hunt of the yard to find 2D shapes and square corners. We worked in pairs and had a lot of fun.
Art
Here is some of the Art we did during the month of September.
