A visit from a Firefighter
The children have been learning all about the Fire Station and were delighted when a Firefighter came to visit. We learned all about her job, her uniform, equipment she uses and they had lots of questions for her. They even got to try on her uniform. It was a lovely visit.
We had great fun looking for shapes on the Active Walkway today.

We Are Engineers!
Our task was to build a bridge over a piece of blue card (the river). Each group was given a different type of building material to work with and the results were fantastic. Everyone had so much fun being engineers for the day :)

Friendship Week
Our buddy class this week was 3rd class Ms. Kelly. We had so much fun doing lots of different activities with them. We did some skipping for each other, exercises and had a lovely getting to know you chat:)
We had a lovely zoom with 3rd class. They read us a story and played some games with us. We sang them a song and a nursery rhyme.
We made friendship cards for our buddy's and they made them for us too.
We worked so hard in our class this week at being kind to each other. We were secret agents and we all had a classmate to be kind to all week. We even filled our kindness jar to the top with marbles. As a reward for being so kind we decorated cupcakes. It was so much fun :)

Science Week
We had lots of fun during Science week this week. We did the dancing raisins, skittles rainbow and the celery food dye experiments. We also watched some science experiments on the whiteboard.
Magnets
We had great fun learning all about magnets. We investigated what objects in the classroom attracted magnets and other items that are magnetic.

Maths Week
We really enjoyed Math's week this week. We built towers from cubes, counted them and compared the heights of them with our partners. We found things longer than a ruler in our classroom. We went on a math's trail outside and we counted how many laps of the yard we could do. We love Maths in Junior Infants :)

Jersey Day
Autumn Walk
Today we went on a lovely Autumn walk and looked out for all the signs of Autumn. We collected leaves and stuck them in our copies. We kept a good look out for squirrels and hedgehogs :)
Our Garden Visit
We had a lovely visit to the school garden this week. The sun was shining and we saw all the vegetables and fruit that had grown. We looked at the fairy garden and wished our worries away on the worry plaque. We even had a play in the sensory garden!
Our First Week
We've started working hard already in Junior Infants, listening to stories, learning a new language (Gaeilge) and doing lots of counting activities.
We listened to the story 'Don't Eat the Teacher' and drew our favourite part.
We have loved morning play time this week!
