Intercultural Day- We learned about New Zealand. Fun Fact: There are more sheep than people in New Zealand!! Check out our performance- we did The Haka.
Our New Wildflower Garden
As part of the biodiversity day that took place on 22 May 2021, John Paul Construction have asked our school to participate in a wildflower planting project where they provided the school with wildflower seeds and fruit trees.

Biodiversity Week- We watched The Great Irish Zoo Off: Land v's Sea hosted by Fota Wildlife Park and Galway Atlantaquaria. We learned that STEM is used everywhere- in our zoos and seas.
Mrs. Eastman showed us pictures of different ecosystems and pictures of different sealife. We even saw a Mermaid Purse!!
Wednesday 12th May 2021- International Nurse's Day. We did "Thank you" posters and cards to nurses for taking care of everyone, especially during the Covid Pandemic.

Christmas Jumper Day
We watched the Pantomime at school in our Christmas jumpers. We all really enjoyed it- it was great fun and interactive. We did some "Christmas presents" art this morning with all of the Christmas words that we know.

Check out our Christmas song and dance "Rockin'Around the Christmas Tree". We have been singing outside over the past couple of weeks. We made up the dance moves together as a class. We hope our performance puts everyone in the Christmas spirit :) :) :)

The 'Christy Ring Cup' Visit
John and Cathal from the Kildare Senior Hurling team brought in the Christy Ring Cup. We asked lots of questions. The two players were very proud of themselves and told us that training during the Covid restrictions were very difficult but worthwhile in the end!!

Athletics Ireland- The Daily Mile
We have ran 210 laps of the school yard which is a marathon (42.2km).We are onto our second marathon now. Our target is 420 laps. We concentrate and focus really well on our work after we do our laps. We practice running between 5-15 minutes or some days we practice our sprinting. It's our favourite part of the day and what we are most grateful for at the end of the day!!
Science Week
It's Science Week this week (9th-13th November). We have started our Intel Mini Scientist projects. We watched Electrified at the Explorium- very interesting!!
GAA
We are learning lots of new GAA skills in P.E with Coach Michael.

Halloween
We dressed up in 5th Class for Halloween. Check out our costumes and some of the Halloween art that we did.
Maths Week 12th - 16th Oct
Our class went on a Maths Trail to the train station and back to the school. We noticed that "maths is everywhere". We saw shapes, angles, patterns and different types of lines.

The Daily Mile- 5th Class Laps
We are really enjoying our laps and our class has signed up with Athletics Ireland to promote healthy living by exercising. We are aiming to run a marathon (42.2km) around the school yard which is 210 laps. We are currently on 108 laps. We jog and sprint the laps aswell as running consistently for 10 minutes. We are doing really really really well!!!
It was National Fitness Day on Thursday the 24th September 2020. Our class enjoyed being outside playing some fitness games and doing fitness activities.
Art
We are doing some Silhouette pictures using oil pastels and sportstars.
