These boys and girls missed no days between Christmas and February mid-term. Jack won the homework pass this time!
We really enjoyed our pancakes today, and they tasted even nicer having them in the teachers' staffroom!
We met up with Ms. O' Grady's 2nd class three times this week.
We did some paired reading together and 6th class gave their buddy a gift of a friendship band....
We joined them in the yard on Wednesday for some games. 6th class set up different stations for 2nd class. We enjoyed games of table tennis, soccer, hula hoop throwing, skipping, board games and 'What time is it Mr. Wolf?'
On Friday afternoon we played some board games together. It was a lovely end to friendship week...
The two 6th classes did a great job performing in Our Lady of Victories Church. All the hard work paid off. Well done!
Sheila O' Hora Art Competition
The theme for this year's competition was 'memories'. We painted some of our fondest memories of family holidays and days with friends.
Drámaíocht Trí Ghaeilge
We enjoyed a game of Unihoc and dodgeball for P.E. today and are looking forward to doing gymnastics and G.A.A training in the next few weeks.
Happy Christmas from 6th Class!
The boys and girls who had 100% attendance from November - December. Well done to all!
Big Bad Ben
December was a busy month for all in Room 16 in preparation for Open Day. We put a lot of work into practising our play 'Big Bad Ben' and our songs and recorder pieces for the Carol Service. We had great fun performing the play in class, trying out different accents and putting actions to the songs! We performed the play for the other classes and all the parents. We all did a great job on the day and the audience really enjoyed it!
Our Christmas Art
The boys and girls who had 100% attendance from September - October! Their names were entered into a class draw for a homework pass.
Our 2018 Class Calendar
In science we learned how the diaphragm fills the lungs with oxygen. We used a plastic bottle and a balloon to demonstrate it.
Last week for P.E. we spent time playing basketball and table tennis...
History and Geography
- In September we took a look at the history of Leixlip. We looked at a map of Leixlip and then recreated our own, making sure to include the roads and buildings that are particularly important to us.
We've been learning about the brain and reactions. We wanted to find out if reactions can be improved. We tested this by dropping a ruler and recording at what centimetre our partners caught it at. We repeated the experiment ten times to see if our reactions improved with practice.
Our class have had two very productive days in the garden this October. We went out with Pat to set some daffodil bulbs. With the help of Mrs. Daly we pulled up the ornamental pumpkins that we set last year. They were all sorts of shapes and sizes. We added them to the school's autumn display.
