Remember our Baby Sparrow song in class? Well now I have baby sparrows in the trees behind my house and every time I see them I think of our song! They have just learned to fly, and their moms and dads are feeding them seeds from the feeder in our garden. Here is the youtube link for the song so you can sing along at home!

Hello boys and girls, hope you are all keeping safe and well, and washing your hands! Here comes the summer! It's getting warmer and sunnier now and we have some lovely summer activities for you to do. Start by watching this power-point all about Summer: www.twinkl.ie/resource/t-tp-891-ks1-when-is-summer-powerpoint And then, have a look at all the activities below, including a really easy video of art projects for you to try. Maybe you could make some for a window display to cheer up people as they pass by on their walks? It's time for the Declan O' Toole Memorial Competition, which we hold in school every year. The details are on the page below. Please do try to enter, as there is a prize for every class! |
We've been doing some gardening! We planted seeds and some of them have already started sprouting! We planted lettuce, carrots, peas, french beans, radishes, tomoatoes and strawberries, plus a rhubarb plant.
Just over a week ago 'Shelley' arrived into our garden. We asked around all our neighbours but nobody seemed to know who she belonged to. We also contacted our local vet and rescue center but they didn't know who she belonged to either. We also discovered that 'Shelley' was actually 'Felix!' We have been feeding him and letting him sleep in our shed until we find out who owns him. He is very friendly and has made himself at home. His favourite spot is in one of our plants beside the back door, where he snoozes in the sunshine.
