WELCOME TO ROOM 3
INTERCULTURAL DAY
This year for intercultural day we have been learning all about Italy. The children in Room 3 love pizza, so we thought it would be fitting to learn more about the wonderful country which pizza originates from, ITALY.
The children have been enjoying listening to Italian music, we haven't been brave enough to attempt the Italian language just yet. The children enjoyed learning about the Leaning Tower of Pisa and we even pretended to be Michelangelo and created some masterpieces lying on our backs. We painted flags and some of us even attempted to draw the Mona Lisa. It has been great fun.

ACTIVE SCHOOLS WEEK
The boys in Room 3 had the most amazing Active Schools Week. They got involved in every activity. I think their favourite activities were the dance challenge and the obstacle course. The boys all went home extra tired every day.
SPRING TIME IN ROOM 3
We have had a very busy Spring term. We went on lots of walks and adventures around Leixlip. Squirrel woods is our favourite place at the moment. We even have had a little picnic there which was amazing!!!

CHRISTMAS IN ROOM 3
The children in Room 3 have had a very good first term back in school. We all arrived back to school in August not knowing what was ahead of us but the children of Room 3 arrived back and took everything in their stride. I would like to wish everyone in Room 3 and all the Scoil Mhuire community a very Happy Christmas.

NOVEMBER
Science week: On Friday the 13th Room 3 was turned into a laboratory for a few hours. The children really enjoyed engaging in a variety of experiments. We all had great fun with some very clever predictions and interesting discussions. The children really enjoyed the jumping raisins experiment. After our fun and crazy day of experimenting I think it is fair to say we have some scientists in the making!!! |

RETURN AFTER MIDTERM:
The children all had a lovely, relaxing midterm break and returned ready to take on the next half term. This month the children will be learning about shapes, their bodies, the senses and lots of other interesting and exciting topics.
So far the children have enjoyed making gingerbread man shaped pizzas, using their imaginations to make 3D shapes with different items in the classroom, creating images using 2D shapes and lots lots more. Here are some pictures of the first two weeks back after our midterm break.

The children in Room 3 were so excited to return to school in September. They have had a very busy month, settling into new routines, following new rules and making some new friends. The children really enjoy working at their individual workstations while also coming together to complete some group activities.
For the month of September the children were learning all about Autumn and different types of weather. The children particularly enjoyed learning about Tornado's, with some even wanting to dress up as a Tornado for Halloween!!!!
The theme for the month of October and November will be Halloween and My Body.
