A massive Thank You to all my Infants who made this for me. It is so lovely and I am delighted to be your teacher, even if sometimes we don't agree on the best football team!! I hope you are all keeping safe. I know it's hard not being able to go to school but we have to stay strong and busy and hopefully we will be back back soon :).

Beannachtaí na Cásca
3rd April
Hi to all my Senior Infants,
I hope you are all keeping well.
This situation is all very strange, but it will pass, we just need to give it some time.
I know that you were all probably well able for the work I assigned this past week, but if you did get stuck in anything or found something hard - don't worry we will catch up on everything when we return to school.
The next two weeks are the Easter holidays and like a normal holiday I will not be assigning any school work for you to do. However, there are loads of different activities that you could be doing further down on this page - exercises, arts and crafts and so on.
I have loved getting emails about the different things you've been up to. You can continue sending me pictures and I will pop them up here on the page. My email is [email protected]
Finally I would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter, mind yourselves and try not to eat too much chocolate!!
I miss you and hope to see you all very soon.
Ms. Hanafin

24th MARCH
Hello class!
I hope you are all doing well and staying nice and healthy. I am sure that you are all keeping busy and being very good at home.
I would love to know what you are getting up to so if you've any photos send them onto me and I will upload them on here!
My email is: [email protected]
I am keeping myself very busy down in Kerry. I go on lots of walks with my sister and my dogs, especially on the beach. I am also baking, reading loads of books and making new games for us to play when we return to school!
Rex is also very good - he has been helping on the farm with the new lambs and calves so he is very tired at night. He really misses you all and can't wait to see you all soon.
I hope you are working through the work I gave you before we split up.
Here is a list of some extra ideas to keep you busy:
* Read a book
* Write your own story - Remember try your best with spelling and if you don't know a word 'Sound it Out!'
* Do some baking - (make sure an adult helps you!)
* Do some drawing, colouring or painting. There is an art competition on the main page of the school website and we have some brilliant artists in class so make sure you enter.
* Practise all the lovely songs in both English and Irish that we have learnt.
* Teach someone at home all the Irish questions you have learnt.
* Get loads and loads of fresh air, practise your football, hurling, GAA, dancing and so on.
* Sign up to 'GoNoodle'- there are loads of dances and exercises on this website.
* Try out RTÉ's 10@10 series on their website.
* Print off some mindfulness colouring from Twinkl. Use code IRE TWINKLHELPS for free access to Twinkl resources.
I will upload work for you for next week later on this week. If you are stuck with anything don't worry we will look at it when we go back to school.
See you soon,
Ms. Hanafin

Friendship Week
The Garda Station
This term our Áistear theme is the Garda Station. We are lucky to have two parents in our class that are guards and they kindly came in to teach us all about their work as Gardaí. We had loads of questions for them and we learned a lot about the work they do and how they protect us. They brought in their handcuffs, walkie- talkies and even let us try on parts of their uniform. Not only that but they had a Garda motorbike which we all had a go on. We were so happy and are very grateful that they came to visit us.
Pancake Tuesday
Grandparent's Day
Réamhaisnéis na haimsire
We learnt all about 'An Aimsir' this week in Irish. We reported for RTÉ Nuacht and will continue reporting every week. We hope we'll have a good weather report :).
Special Visitors
Two baby goats came to our class and we all got to hold them.
Performing 'Santa Clause is coming to town' in Sign Language for the whole school.
Open Day
Science Week
For Science week, we carried out two experiments. The first one was about air pressure. We blew up 15 balloons and placed a table over them. Then we tested how many people we could stand on top without bursting the balloons. We got up to four children standing on the table and the balloons didn't pop! Even Ms. Hanafin didn't pop the balloons when she stood on the table! The second experiment used Skittles and water to show colours mixing.
Áistear - The Post Office
Our new Áistear theme is the Post Office. We love writing letters and working in the Post Office.
School Garden
Today we picked runner beans from the garden that we planted in Junior Infants. We found loads and loved all the colours.
Maths Week
As part of Maths Week, we took part in the Tangram Challenge. With a little help from teacher we completed it :) :)
Jersey Day
