School Tour to Caragh Farm - 18th June
Fun in the Sun
We've been enjoying the lovely sunshine. We visited the garden, looked at our onions growing and smelled some sage and thyme. We also played with our favourite toys on the grass and listened to our class novel, Matilda, in the sun.

Growing and Changing
We've been looking at how much we've grown since September and the changes we've gone through since starting Senior Infants. You can compare the photographs below, the first one taken during our first week of school in September, and the second one take last week, in April.

World Book Day!
Thursday 7th March was World Book Day and we had lots of fun dressing up as our favourite book characters! We went to the library and sat on comfortable cushions and read lots of different books. We made our own bookmarks and wrote about our favourite books and characters which we put into a booklet! It was a busy day but we had lots of fun!
Pancake Tuesday
On Tuesday, 5th March, Senior Infants made pancake batter. They used flour, sugar and baking powder, mixed with eggs and milk. Everybody enjoyed stirring the mixture and even tasting it. We discussed our favourite toppings and the toppings our families like to eat. Then we enjoyed our sweet treats!
Grandparent's Day
On Tuesday, 29th of January, we celebrated Grandparent's Day as part of Catholic School's Week. We had lots of visitors to our classroom, who shared stories and information about what life was like when they were young. Many thanks to all our visitors for a very enjoyable and informative morning.
Gynmastics Equipment
We've been having great fun on the gynmastics equipment, climbing, swinging, jumping and balancing.
Neighbourhood Walk
The children of Senior Infants have been learning all about houses and homes, linked with our Aistear theme of 'The Estate Agent.' They have studied different types of houses in our locality, and they went on a neighbourhood walk to view these houses. They saw some detached, semi-detached and terraced houses, along with bungalows and apartments. Everybody really enjoyed the walk, the fresh air and investigating the bug hotel!
Christmas Play
We performed the play 'Fishing For Stars' for our parents, grandparents and families on Open Day. Everybody really enjoyed the show and we enjoyed performing for them.
Pumpkin Carving
Senior Infants have been exploring the tastes, smells and textures of pumpkins with Ms. Gaffney. They enjoyed learning about how pumpkins are grown, how they are harvested and what they are used for.
A Visit to the Fairy Garden
A fairy has moved into our school garden, much to the excitement of the children in Room 1. She left a little note asking the class to mind her and she will watch over our plants in return. She will also keep an eye out for us and make sure we are all working hard in school.
