Welcome to Mr. Lynch's 1st Class
Have a look at some of the exciting things we have done in our class this year.
Autumn Leaf Art and Halloween Pumpkins
We planted some red onions earlier in the year. Mrs Daly came in and helped us. She showed us all the different plants and vegetables growing in the school garden. We hope to harvest our onions near the summer!
Dress Up Day!
National Tree Day
We studied and learned all about trees. We can name all the parts of a tree, the roots, the trunk, the leaves, the branches and the seeds. We went outside to do some bark rubbings and collect leaves for some art projects.
World Book Day
We love reading in 1st Class. Each Tuesday morning we have a special reading time. We have some special helpers who come in to visit and they help us with our reading and we get to tell them all about our books. For World Book Day we brought in some of our favourite books from home to read and talk about. We also made our own book marks to keep track of what page we are on.
As part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations we had a Lá Glas We dressed up in green for the day and joined Ms. O'Grady's and Ms. Walsh's classes in the hall for a Céilí Mór. Ms. O'Sullivan was there to teach us some new dances and we had great fun dancing together! We were tired after it all!
