Scoil Mhuire Mission Statement
Scoil Mhuire is a Catholic co-educational mainstream school with two ASD classes, under the patronage of the Archdiocese of Dublin, providing education to children from the local community in the Parish of Leixlip. We aim to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential. We embrace diversity and strive for the inclusivity of all, placing emphasis on the holistic development of every pupil.
We have high expectations for our pupils and through the Primary School Curriculum, the pupils’ intellectual, spiritual, moral, emotional, creative, physical and social wellbeing is nurtured and developed. We promote in our pupils, the Christian values of honesty, kindness, patience, equality, forgiveness, thankfulness, friendship and most importantly respect – for themselves, for others, for property and for the environment.
Through the curriculum and through extra-curricular activities, we encourage our pupils to develop their social and communication skills, their talents and their confidence and we endeavour to build resilience in our pupils to prepare them for the ever changing world we live in.
Scoil Mhuire promotes the ongoing professional development and wellbeing of its staff. Our teachers, SNAs and ancillary staff work in partnership to meet the children's needs in a well organised and well resourced environment. We recognise the benefits of a good work ethic, the importance of reflective practice and the need for regular self evaluation. We value parents and guardians, as the primary educators and encourage their participation and support in the education of their children. We also maintain strong links with the wider community of Leixlip.
With our staff, pupils, parents, the Board of Management and the Parent Teacher Association working together as a team, we believe we can provide the high quality education to our pupils that Scoil Mhuire has a tradition of providing. As is visible on our school crest, our purpose is ‘Fás agus Foghlaim’.
