Welcome to First Class!
June
We really enjoyed our school tour. We started with a visit to the Chocolate Factory where we got to taste yummy chocolate and decorate our own bars. We finished the day with a trip to the Natural History Museum. We had lots of fun!
Some of us were very tired after such an action packed day and needed a nap on the bus journey home!
May
We had great fun at Sports Day this year!
April
Visits from the Chicks
We really enjoyed having April and Popcorn visit our class twice. Some of us were lucky enough to get to hold them on the 2nd visit!
Active Schools Week
We had great fun during Active Schools Week. We ran a marathon on Monday, did Zumba with Benina on Tuesday, had some races with the teachers on Wednesday, played Sprouts with our 5th class buddies on Thursday and got to watch the Teachers vs. Students Rounders game on Friday. Not forgetting Wake Up, Shake Up every morning! Phew! We were tired from all the activity but really enjoyed ourselves and loved being so active. Check out some of our Zumba moves in the videos below!

Intercultural Day
We learned all about France for Intercultural Day. There was a big parade in the hall in the morning and some of us got to take part. We sang 'Frére Jacques' as a class and even managed to split the song in 2 and sing it as a round. Erika's mam came to visit us in the afternoon to tell us all about Spain. We really enjoyed wearing the clothes from our native countries and had a great day.

February
Full Attendance
Well done to the boys and girls who had 100% attendance between Christmas and the Midterm break. Lots of children in our class hadn't missed a day and got to bring home a certificate.
Sow and Grow Update
Our Cress seeds were the first to grow and we were amazed at how quickly they sprouted. We brought them home and are minding them ourselves in our houses.
Friendship Week
We paired up with Ms. McCormack's 5th class for Friendship Week. We did some reading and Art activities together and played together on the yard. We really enjoyed our week with our buddies and will meet up again throughout the year for some more fun activities.
Sow and Grow
We planted some seeds into cups of compost. We planted Cress, Peas and Spinach. We watered our seeds and placed them on the windowsill to get some warmth from the sun. We are excited to watch them grow and we will keep you updated about which seeds are growing the fastest!
Grandparents Day
On the 2nd of February, we invited our Grandparents into our classroom. We heard stories about school when they were our age. We talked about their favourite games, their favourite food and their favourite teachers. We asked them questions and they asked us questions also. We made cards to give to our Grandparents and we coloured pictures for them. The classroom visit was followed by a lovely prayer service in the hall for the whole school and our Grandparents. We really enjoyed the day and we hope our Grandparents did too!
