JUNE
We are now on the countdown to the summer holidays and the children are busy enjoying lots of different activities. The children really enjoyed learning about Hawaii for intercultural day, they had a blast at Airtastic, they have been busy reading lots of books for the read-a-thon and lots, lots more. The children went on a trip to Dun Laoghaire and Castletown, the fun and laughter will hopefully stay with the children for many many years.
SPORTS DAY
The children in Room 3 had the most wonderful sports day this year. They all joined their integration classes and had so much fun with all their friends. The children in 2nd, 3rd and 4th class were so welcoming and inclusive and made the day so enjoyable for all.
Room 3 News
The children in Room 3 have has a very busy few months and I think it's time we caught up on everything they have been up to. The children have enjoyed cooking various new dishes and have been using their procedural writing skills to help them write up their recipes. They have been busy learning about fractions, The Titanic, reading their novel 'Ice Man', learning the song 'Food Glorious Food' and lots more. We had two very special events, with one boy making his Confirmation and another making Communion. The children have been enjoying attending their integration classes.
2022...Happy New Year
The children all had a wonderful Christmas and came back ready for lots of more fun and work. Since returning to school the children have been busy learning about shape and space in math and art. The have been learning about space and movement in SESE. The children really enjoyed making catapults and having competitions to see whose milk carton lid could fly the highest. The children loved seeing the snow, even though it didn't last very long. The children have been busy learning about report writing and even I have been learning some wonderful facts about a wide variety of animals. The children have been working hard on their art master pieces for the art competition and it has been lovely chatting to the children about all the fun things they enjoy doing with their families.

All the boys and girls in Room 3 have worked so hard this term that they got a special treat last week. A special delivery of Mc Donalds was dropped to our classroom door for the children. The enjoyed every bite of their treat.

The children in Room 3 have been busy preparing for Christmas. They have been busy practising for our little Christmas display. They have been working very hard decorating the corridors with their amazing art work. They have once again been practicing their cooking skills, this time using their new maths skills, fractions. The children have been so good they even got a visit from the big man himself, Santa :). The children have enjoyed learning about Christmas around the world and I think they really enjoyed learning about Hawaii. They loved attempting the Hawaiian Christmas words and also drawing pictures of Santa arriving to Hawaii on a surfboard!!! We have also enjoyed some long walks down near the canal.
SCIENCE WEEK
The children in Room 3 had so much fun during Science week this year. They engaged with a wide variety of experiments. We had a student teacher in with us during Science week who created an experiment based around our History topic of Ancient Egypt. The children loved creating their own mummies using apples, baking soda and water. The children also loved the volcanic eruption experiment. Some of the experiments were very messy but this added to the joy and excitement of the teaching and learning.
HALLOWEEN FUN IN ROOM 3
The children in Room 3 enjoyed taking part in lots of different Halloween activities. They learned some Halloween songs, wrote Halloween acrostic poems and even got to make their own slimy potions in science to learn more about what happens to different substances when they are mixed together. We had great fun!!! The children and staff really enjoyed the dress up day and because the children had such a great first half-term, they had a special extra treat of chips and burgers, prepared with the help of the children. OCTOBER
The children in Room 3 have had a busy October so far. They have been working extremely hard, identifying their feelings and working on a variety of ways to deal with their feelings. They have been creating some wonderful art pieces, learning about time, working on their singing voices and lots more. They have particularly enjoyed History and learning about schools in the past. They found some of the old photos vey funny and have said they are happy they did not go to school in the past. They also made some wonderful predictions about what school might look like in the future.
SEPTEMBER IN ROOM 3
The children in room 3 have had a wonderful September. We welcomed three children from room 4 into our room this year and there was great excitement among all the children as they got to know each other and form new friendships. Since returning on the 1st of September the children have been busy engaging in lots of hard work but also having lots of fun.
