Our Green Schools Committee organised Scoil Mhuire's first ever Walking Bus on 16th May to mark the 10th anniversary of the Walk on Wednesday "WOW" initiative in Ireland.
The sun was shining as we started at Beechpark estate. Led by our Green Schools committee members, we had bus stops at Easton, Glen Easton, Rinawade, Loughnamona, Cluain Dara and Castletown where we added passengers to the walking bus. There was a great atmosphere on the day with over 300 on the walk down Green Lane - students, parents and staff. We arrived at Scoil Mhuire with smiles all around and were greeted by bubbles and music. Well done to everybody who got involved and a huge thank you to Ms. Lenfestey, our Green Schools
Co-ordinator for organising the event.
