Teddy Bear's Picnic!
Junior and Senior Infants had a great time at the Teddy Bear's Picnic. Ms. Milner's 6th Class came down and played some games with us. It was great!
School Tour!
We had a great day on our School Tour at Caragh Open Farm. The sun was shining and the animals were hungry so we were very busy feeding them- and playing also!
Sports Day!
Sports Day was SO MUCH FUN!!! We were very busy with the parachute, playing basketball, running obstacle races, going on the bouncy castle and (our favourite!) eating an ice-cream!
Scooting around!
We know how important it is to be safe on our scooters. We learned how to take care when scooting- and how to do an emergency stop.

Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind Visit
We were lucky enough to have a visit from Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. They brought in ambassador dogs and 1 puppy-in-training. They were super cute!

STEM activity
We designed containers that would fit an item that we had. This linked to the theme of capacity in Maths.
Capacity in Maths
We have been learning about capacity in Maths. We listened to the story of Goldilocks and the three Bears, both in Irish and English. We ordered chairs and cups for the 3 bears and discussed how best we could give them an equal amount of popcorn- then we had a popcorn party!

World Book Day
We had lots of fun dressing up for World Book Day! Our buddies from 3rd class came down to show us their books. We played with the Lego together!

We organised Data in Maths, showing the different colours we had in a Smartie Box. Each box had a different amount of colours!
Nature Walk
We went on a nature walk to see signs of Spring in our immediate environment!
Fruit Tasting!
We have been discussing having a balanced diet. We tasted some fruit and vegetables in class. We voted for our favourite in Maths- we are learning about data this week. We talked about different ways we could record our data. We used clothes pegs to cast our vote!
The Number 4
We have been learning about the number 4! We had a challenge to create different structures with 4 blocks. We also joined our 4 blocks together with those of our partners to make bigger creations! In Maths, we used our Lego to make a '4' town.
We are learning about the Vet in Oral Language. Here we are during playtime!
We have been learning about pitched and unpitched instruments in music. We used a selection of instruments in the classroom to create sounds!
In Maths we have been learning about patterns and 2D shapes. We have been investigating with both!
Christmas 2024!
We have had lots of fun in Junior Infants during the month of December. We were busy getting ready for our play, Nursery Rhyme Nativity. We went outside to see the manger, we did lots of Christmas art, we made buildings with our 3D shapes and we learned some Christmas songs in Irish. We also had hot chocolate with our 3rd class buddies!

Science Week
We have been very busy during Science Week. We investigated with magnets and had lots of fun finding out what sticks to our magnets and what doesn't!

Halloween dress up!
We had lots of fun dressing up for Halloween. We all showed our costumes to the class. Here are some pictures of us- we are jumping in the blurry ones!

We went on a Halloween walk today! The sun was shining and we had lots of fun. We walked with 6th class. We carved a pumpkin together in class- we called it Pooky the Pumpkin. We have been learning Halloween songs and poems.

Maths week!
We have been very busy in Junior Infants during Maths week! We played Snakes and Ladders. We had lots of discussion about the Maths Week poster of the Fairground. We worked out how to give 5 dogs an equal amount of bones and we made rainbows out of Lego blocks with our buddies from 3rd class- we really have been busy!

Signs of Autumn!
We have been learning about Autumn. We went on a nature walk to look for signs of Autumn around our school. We saw how the leaves are changing colour. We found leaves and helicopter seeds from nearby trees. We investigated how the seeds fell and had great fun watching them fall in the yard!
Friendship Week!
We had lots of fun this week meeting up with our buddies in 3rd class! We read books, coloured pictures and played outside.
