World Book Day

We had lots of fun dressing up for World Book Day. We came into school dressed as our favourite characters. It was exciting to see everyone in their costumes!

Watercress

We grew watercress in the class. We put seeds into soil and added water. They have grown so much!

Pancake Tuesday

We ate some yummy pancakes (with chocolate spread!) on Pancake Tuesday. We talked about how we make pancakes and sequenced the steps in our copies. It was good to eat them in school!

Tennis Lessons

We had lots of fun playing tennis with Enzo. We learned how to roll a ball towards our partners and how to hit the ball in their direction using our racket. It was good to be outside playing tennis!  

Spring Planting

We planted watercress seeds this week. We can't wait to see them start to grow! We know that plants need sunlight to grow so we have them on the windowsill. 

 Active break every day

We have been doing the Croke Park movement breaks to stay fit and healthy. They are lots of fun! We played a game called Reaction Time- we dropped our pencil case from a height- could our partner catch it? Watch our videos- we are doing squat jumps, balancing on one leg and playing musical statues.

Swimming Certs

We took part in a swimming workshop in the hall. We learned lots about being safe around water!

Catholic Schools Week

We were busy during Catholic Schools Week. We welcomed our Grandparents and family members on Friday 23 January. We had a lovely prayer service in the hall with our families. 

Using IPADs

We used the school IPADs for the first time. We learned how to turn them on and off. We also learned how to take a picture (and a selfie!) and how to scan a QR code.

Happy Christmas from Junior Infants!

We really enjoyed dressing up in our costumes for our Christmas Play- Nursery Rhyme Nativity! It was great to perform for our friends and family. We made lots of Christmas art. We learned some Christmas songs and poems.

Science Week!

Junior Infants got to investigate how magnets work during Science week. We also experimented with Skittles. We predicted what would happen when we added warm water to a plate of Skittles. The colours were amazing!

Junior Infants have been very busy getting ready for Halloween. We made pumpkins and scary witches! We ate Bairín Breac and learned some spooky songs and poems!

Jersey Day

It was great to dress up for Jersey Day in aid of GOAL. We went outside and skipped with our buddy class!

Friendship Week

We were paired up with Ms. Kelly's 3rd class for Friendship Week. We made lots of new friends! We went out to the yard, read some books, did P.E and coloured  friendship pictures with our buddies. We went on 3 Bouncy Castles as well- they were lots of fun!

We are busy bees!

We went out to the Sensory Garden. We hope to go back when we get 10 stars for lining up! We have been learning about rooms in the house. We made rooms out of Lego. We harvested vegetables in the garden. We are making our muscles strong doing our Fine Motor activites. We learned the song Rólaí Pólaí in Irish.

1st week activities!

We have had a busy few days in Junior Infants. We sang Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and 5 Little Ducks. We read a story about a boy called Harry bringing his dinosaurs to school. We played lots too!
