School Tour
On June 12th, 5th Class went on their school tour. Firstly, we visited the fascinating Farmleigh Estate where Aisling, our tour guide, gave us a wonderful tour and provided great insight into this prestigious building with great links to Leixlip. We enjoyed some time on the grounds to play and have lunch following on from that.
Later on, we went to Aquazone which was a real highlight and we had a super time splashing around for the afternoon. A very successful trip! Thank you to Ms. O'Mara, Ms. Kelly and Ms. Hackett for accompanying us.

Science Week 2023
In 5th Class we always really enjoy Science Week as it links in well with all of our Mini Scientist skills.
During the week, we engaged in lots of fun experiments, such as finding out what surface has the most germs and investigating which substance has the best cleaning effect on metals. We also took part in some STEM zoom lessons, such as one exploring the role of a neurologist. A very fun and interesting week!

Intel Mini Scientist 2023
On Thursday the 26th of November, we welcomed three judges to Scoil Mhuire to judge the amazing projects 5th Class had been working on since September. All projects were of an exceptionally high calibre and I was so proud of their presentation skills on the day. All projects boasted really interesting topics, such as what drink affects teeth the worst, brain concentration levels, solar panels and the ability of the Burj Khalifa to withstand earthquakes. So much time and effort went into investigating and experimenting, as well as designing stunning display boards and writing up report booklets. Táimid bródiúil astu go léir i Scoil Mhuire!!!!
Well done to Molly and Aoibheann with their highly commended project based on the suitability of different types of flour in baking.
